Standing Committee Meets on Bainimarama Decision

June 5, 2009

The Standing Committee of the Church is currently meeting this morning to discuss the outcome of the meeting with dictator Bainimarama and his illegal bunch of officers, where the tin-pot dictator had relayed to the Church President and General Secretary the illegal government’s directive that it will not allow the Rewa Conference to proceed.

It is expected that rather than giving in to the cajoling, threats and intimidation by the Bainimarama junta for the Church to surrender its principles and role to be the prophetic voice in standing up against the Bainimarama regime for the indignity imposed on the people through increasing poverty, economic hardship, the denial of rule of law, loss of employment opportunities, freedom and basic rights, the Church will most likely hold on to its position, defer the ‘solevu’ and choir competition and make alternative arrangements for the collection of levies and financial contribution.

When asked, one senior Church Minister commented: “For the sake of peace, we will explore at today’s meeting the need to cancel the 2009 conference and the possibility of other alternatives to collect levies from the various divisions. But of one thing we are sure: We will hold dear to our faith and its principles. Further, there are proper procedures for disciplinary action in the Church. It will not be in accordance with the Church Constitution and a denial of natural justice if directives from the Prime Minister were followed to terminate the employment of senior Ministers of the Church.”

Do not give your money to the church. Give only your tithe and offering. No conference no money.

The methodist church its miniters and its people are the last straw in the hat for Fiji as a whole.
In God we trust for he is with us then no mighty army can stand before us.
If you bow down to this dictator then the people of God will suffer and God will not be at peace with you.
You have made the move with the banner of christ so let that light of peace freedom and love shine forth and overcome this dictator.
    God bless

Church must also make sure that its members are in complete control. It must put up its guard all the time to safeguard its interests & and make sure that Bainimarama & Co do not have the influence inside to execute a coup from within.

As a child, my favourite hymn in church was 391.

The significance of the words are very important for the Christians in Fiji [ even the Romans } as you try to defeat the illegal green goons.

    Onwards Christian soldiers,

    Marching as to war.

    With the Cross of Jesus

    Going on before.

    Christ the Royal Master,

    Leads against the foe;

    Forward into battle,

    See, His banners go:

    Onwards Christian soldiers,

    Marching as to war.

    With the Cross of Jesus

    Going on before.

I agree Asgrocky…it seems IF the Methodist Ministers decide to go forward with the money collection and defer (in Voreqe’s words INDEFINITELY DURING HIS WATCH..KAISI BOKOLA!!!!), than their mission of PEACE is a hollow one!!!!!

I mean what’s more important the higher ministers need for money or the hearts of the people being won to Christ and saved from the nasty grip of dictators???

If they CANCEL the meeting it will be a victory for Voreqe who now will have the total grip on STOLEN POWER!!!

Then if the Church backs down, then I guess it will up to Freedom Fighters to take up the peaceful struggle. If the students of China can do it in their oppressive regime 20 years ago, what’s stopping us????!!!!

I reiterate again, I sincerely hope Ro Temumu still extend her personal invitation for the ministers to go and meet in her domain and the ministers can take thier levies with them to the meeting.

NO MEETING – NO MONEY COLLECTION!!!!! COS IF THEY ONLY COLLECT MONEY AND FOREGO THE MEETING THAN WHAT THEY WILL BE SHOWING IS MONEY IS MORE POWERFUL AND IMPORTANT THAN SAVING THE PEOPLE FROM FURTHER DESTITUTE AND DESTRUCTION IN THE HANDS OF DICTATORS AND LUNATICS!!!!!

Now is no greater time for Ro Teimumu, Paramount Chief of Rewa to show her true statesmansip nature. She must act one step ahead of the Methodist Church. She, like other high chiefs of Fiji, can no longer hide behind dthe scene. She must make an announcement even before the Church makes its final decision to the people of Rewa. Why? The biggest argument by those within the church who may be willing to go along with Frank’s demands is not to cause pain to the people of Rewa who have been preparing for 12 months for this event. The Marama Roko Tui Dreketi must announce to her people that if the decision not to hold the Conference is upheld then she will herself, with the church and others from the vanua who wish to help, be responsible for the qusi ni loaloa, the traditional atonement ceremony. What better way to hold the qusi ni loaloa than to call everyone together at the chiefly village of Lomanikoro and have a huge magiti or feast using the crops and food prepared for the conference. So it will become a celebration of psychological and spiritual victory against the dictator. So she would be turning a potentially negative situation into a win-win one for her and the methodist church. Then Frank will have to worry about banning the vanua from coming together for the qusi ni loaloa.

If they forgo the meeting but take a collection then simply put, all the church wants is your money so the motive is questionable. Keep all your money for your families. You work for it you deserve to use it all for yourselves. Do not give away your money and do not feel guilty for not giving. The church does not do anything for you, God is the giver of all good and perfect gifts. Your tithe is all you give but to your church where you receive spiritual nourishment.

The Methodist church have to decide either to carry on with the meeting and also raise the money or postpone it and collect the money.Without both the Mehodist Church will not be able to run its business smoothly. The Methodist church and its leadership must remember that before any goverment were formed in Fiji since 1835 when the first missionaries came to Fiji the Bose ko Viti and the Methodist church were operating.Who are these bastards (IG) to stop the church from holding its annual meeting. These military councils are full of muderers and crooks and to top it off they are bunch of illegal wannabes.

Why are the church leaders quiet. They have been quiet too long too late. The only one that had some say was on the side breaking the law. It just reared it’s ugly head then went back to its cave. Unfortunately for him, Fiji and the world know about him.

Asgrocky Says, the church leaders are not bunch of monkeys like those of the IG and the Military councils. The Methosdist church have their own constitution and everything have to be done according to that.Bainimarama and his team of wannabes at the camp donot follow any rule and the only thing they follow are their own desire of greediness for their own benefit. These are the work carried out by those type of people with empty pockets and empty brain.
Only empty tins make loud noise mate.

It is all very well for the Church to be put in the firing line.

Where the hell are our leaders and the Chiefs.?

Time to be counted once and for all..

Church leaders are not monkeys are your words……… Those empty tins with empty pockets and empty brains have been loudly clanging slowly forward if you haven’t noticed. And I repeat, the churches, the so called political leaders and chieves are 2 years, too slow, too late in responding. They only seem to want to lead when the going is good. Now they are everywhere but nowhere effective and relevant. Woe to the people of Fiji. Your faith in God seems to be the only hope that is left to you now. Every man for himself. And the blog is slowing down except for RFN

Noticed during the last 2 years there has been an dramatic increase in the number of sittings of the NLC around the country to determine who is the rightful title holders to the so many titles being disputed.

So most of our so called chiefs are very busy trying to ascertain their positions and the lease money that came with it – even to the point of solimaka to our wannabe rulers IG – that they dare not speak out against the evil that is being wrought onto the country and “their” peoples.

Not the Gone Marama Bale though. Go you good thing !!!!

give ur money directly to the hospital, Dilkusha and others who are in need. Give ur tithe to the church you go to regularly. Give ur loose change to the conference better still buy some one something nice instead. I’ve got tickets to the zoo next Sunday am taking a friend from Fiji to see the animals. Will remember you when feeding the monkeys. I’m no compulsive giver but very generous. I will remember you when feeding extra bananas and peanuts to ur friends.
